Snow in June??

So here we are in the second day of summer and we're in the midst of some of that famous Mt Washington weather.  A bit of hail this afternoon- not too unusual.  But then the radio call concerning frozen precip falling - something that looks like...yes!  Snow!  Certainly not all that unusual but always fun to experience in the summer months.  Very brief snow flurries that have not ,and no doubt will not, amount to any whiteness on the ground but entertaining for those on the summit at the time.

It has been an amazing first 2 days of "summer" in Pinkham Notch and I'd say that the trip today on the Auto Road gave the gift of appreciation of "weather, a work in progress". The Auto Road drive truly puts one into the place where weather "happens". Weather isn't just a forecast on Mt. Washington, it is the true experience. sue
