Trickling in

Here it is, some 90 minutes into the race, er ride, er thing, and reports are trickling in about the course: good stuff. Bridges are sturdy, mud is minimal. I suppose that's true until one finds that minimal mud. Not only are there a few bloodied knees and shins, but a few muddy faces of riders who have completed their first lap.
One unmuddied maiden is Meghan Smith, 25, of North Conway, N.H. She's a Vixen. That's the team. The Mount Washington Valley Velo Club Vixens. It's her second time riding the Glen and she said the course is "awesome."
"I'm doing this for fun," she said. "I like to support the Velo Club." Cool.
So, Hannes "Sumo" Schneider completed his first lap. He wanted a 75 minute lap, but clocked in at 78 minutes. Must have been that sumo suit which he removed before biking.
Schneider had ridden the course at least twice before the event. "It is a lot different that when there are people," he said. "One guy clips out and you're walking."
RSN's Al Hospers is out on the course, followed by Krissy Fraser, myself and Hans "Not Here Yet" Bauer.
