Nate grew up just over the border in Bethel, Maine and plans to stick around for a while. Nate has been at Great Glen Trails for 10 years, which provides a lot of experience to the Paddling Program and Outfitter Store.

Amy Kuzma10 entries
Amy has worked at Great Glen Trails since the winter of 2001. She is an avid nordic skier and general outdoor enthusiast. Amy worked for the Outfitters Shop for 6 winters, where she occasionally could have been spotted teaching a nordic ski lesson or sharing the secret to applying hard wax with a klister binder. In 2004 she began working for GGT in the summer as the Trail Boss. As Trail Boss, Amy spent most of the summer months outside on the trail network; building new single track, maintaining current trails and designing new ski trails that will be built (hopefully) soon. After 6 years of working outside, (4 with the US Forest Service) Amy began to desire an indoor job. She gets outside plenty; hiking, skiing, and traveling with her husband, Brian and their dog, Apollo. She started her “office job” in the spring of 2006, in the Events and Group Sales department, where she now works for both Great Glen Trails and Mt. Washington Auto Road. Although, Amy occupies one of the nice offices on the third floor, she still will sneak outside whenever she has a chance.

Ryan Triffitt177 entries
Ryan is the newest member of the team, and even though he's the "marketing guy" he's a pretty straight shooter. After having worked at adveritsing agencies and in-and-out of the ski industry, he found his way to the offices at Great Glen Trails after skiing here for a number of years and competing in both Nordic Meisters and the various trail running series.
Ryan lives in Topsham, Maine with his wife Danielle who manages an art gallery. In their spare time, Ryan can be found trying to keep up with Danielle either skiing, running or backpacking. In 2005, Ryan and Danielle hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Massachusetts, and they have hiked all 48 of New Hampshire's 4000-foot peaks.
If stranded on a desert island Ryan would bring along the music of John Hiatt, David Byrne, Neil Finn, U2, Son Volt and Thievery Corporation.

Eli Walker3 entries
Growing up in Vermont, Eli discovered a passion for Nordic skiing through family outings and snowy adventures. He takes pride in sharing his interest and knowledge in nordic skiing, helping others find the right equipment and reach their goals whether it’s outdoor fun or competitive achievements. Frequent visits to the White Mountains over the years for fun and racing, soon resulted in a move to New Hampshire. He’s been at Great Glen since 1998.
With more than a dozen years of retail experience, he’s ready to find you the products that’ll make your outdoor experience successful and comfortable. While retail duties are at the forefront throughout the year, you’ll also find that Eli organizes three different weekly race series events in the summer and autumn with everything from trail running to mountain biking.
Keeping competitive racing prominently in his plan, Eli continues to compete throughout the northeast primarily in winter biathlon, a sport involving nordic skiing and rifle marksmanship. He’s been racing in this unique sport since 1994 and has competed in the U.S. Championships and the 1998 Olympic Trials. He still slides up to the start line in various NorAm races and other high level races throughout the East. The mountains and outdoor opportunities in this area keep Eli skiing, hiking, trail running, rollerskiing and anything else he can think of on a daily basis.

Howie Wemyss55 entries
After growing up on the coast of Maine and winter weekending in the White Mountains, Howie attended Colorado State University before spending some quality time in the US Army. He moved to the mountains in the early 70’s and played ski bum, for many years patrolling at Wildcat. His 15 seconds of fame came when he claimed the 1978 Guinness World Book record for continuous downhill skiing at 80 hours and 8 minutes set at Bretton Woods. He finally settled down to full time employment managing the Mt Washington Auto Road in 1987. In 1995 he was offered the additional responsibility of running Great Glen Trails, the company’s new recreational branch. Good thing too since he was becoming too much of a desk jockey. Now he’s rediscovered his passion for trail running, and found new delights in cross country skiing, road and mtn biking, photography and travel. In 2000, he and Sue celebrated his 50th birthday by completing the 54 mile, 16,000 vertical, “Hut Traverse” in 22 hours.
His daughter Cory, a massage therapist, lives nearby in Conway. Howie and his wife Sue met during Nordic Meisters and were married at Great Glen in 2002; they live in Randolph, NH.

This followed her own high level racing career which included competing as a member of the US Ski Team on the World Cup circuit, in the 1985 World Championships and in all four women's xc events at the 1984 Winter Olympics. When not outside teaching or leading an outdoor program, she'll be found at Great Glen Outfitters or at the Rental Desk.
