Still waiting...

Well, the forecast for this week was dead on. Good for the meteorologists' track records. Bad for getting open to the summit.

The holding pattern continues, but we're still trying. So, no summit for this weekend, but stay tuned for updates next week. We'll be doing our best for next weekend.

Rodger that and thanks Ryan, now I know what to expect on my first day back to work tomorrow. Treeline can be an incredible experience this time of year. Sue

Is it possible to ride up the mountain in the van and hike back down on the Auto road?

Traveling to summit today (5-21) we needed tire chains on the front tires of our parks 3/4 ton 4X4 for top 3 miles due to wall to wall icing. The good news is that it has finally stopped raining and the sun is coming out although it is still cold. The road crew is on hauling gravel and grading, playing the weather and the 2 miles of gravel sections on the 5 and 6 miles that are in need of repair like road working surgeons. We'll be 2 wheel drive to the top by Friday in my humble opinion. Stages maybe sooner!
