Mount Washington Auto Road, Gorham NH

A word about COVID-19

Friday, March 27, 2020

We are currently in between seasons here at the Auto Road and Great Glen Trails as we always are at this time of the year.  We are down to our core crew of full timers for early spring. Last Friday we decided that to help keep our crew safe, we should all start working from home for at least the next two weeks. we hope you'll understand if we're not quite as quick to personally pick up the phone, answer an email or respond on social media. We will continue to make plans for the summer in the hopes of welcoming you all back once again to our beautiful corner of the world.

Until then, stay safe, healthy and be kind.

Sunday, March 15, 2020

In the interest of our guests, employees, and community we will be closing our doors for the remainder of the winter season starting March 15th at 4:30pm.

We’d like to thank everyone for a wonderful season and hope to do it all again next year.

Stay posted to our website / social media for updates about Great Glen Trails and the Mount Washington Auto Road moving forward.

Our intent is to provide a “courtesy groom” when conditions permit through March 22nd.  With this, the “ski at your own risk” clause is in effect and conditions will always be variable.

All concessions (rental, café, retail, tickets, restrooms, first aid etc.) will be closed.

We hope you enjoy the open air of Great Glen and stay healthy.

Greetings!  Thank you for your interest in what we’re doing in light of the Covid-19 outbreak.

This evolving situation concerning the novel coronavirus Corvid-19 requires us all to pay attention and be flexible.  Our response will change with the situation.

We have a family of businesses here at the Glen.  Currently the Mt Washington Auto Road is closed to automobile traffic as usual for this time of the year.  We plan to start our normal springtime opening on schedule during the first week of April. Our winter SnowCoach operation, in conjunction with Great Glen Trails, is very much a day to day decision based on weather and road (snow) conditions.  This is also very normal at this time of the year. Great Glen Trails is open daily with whatever activities the weather and snow surface allows. Check our snow report page for daily updates.  Check the Glen House website for any notices about their plans.

Here in the lodge, our base of operations in winter and summer, we are following best practices as informed by the Center for Disease Control.  We suggest you take a look as many of these suggested practices will apply to you in your own home situation.

We are now reviewing our reservations cancellation policy to make sure it makes sense both to us, as a business, and to you, our guests.  You may see changes to this policy in order for you to feel more comfortable making future reservations with us.

Our strategy at this time is to go forward with all of our summer special events as we have planned.  Again, this may change, so check back here as time goes on.

Thank you for being, or considering being, our guests here in the Glen.  We wish you good health!

Howie Wemyss, General Manager
